well,
I don't have a 1500,
but since some others have chimed in with their mileage on various bikes,
I guess I will too.
My ride is a Triumph Rocket III.
I get 21 MPG on the cheap stuff, and 21 MPG on the expensive stuff.
I must be about right because thats what the wife gets on hers too.

Well since everyone is 22 to 37mpg I kinda like my 08 ultra classic with screaming eagle pipes and power commander III and hypercharger giving me close to 48mpg. Now the 883 sporty that I just got rid of only got 40mpg bone stock with a 2.5 gal. tank.

Ok....... The sportster getting 22mpg is awful, even for being beefed up. Something is seriously wrong with that. You must be sending alot of unburnt gas through the tailpipe. Unless it's a full blown drag bike. Not trying to knock your ride, but it sure don't sound right.

I have a VTX1800. about 100hp and close to 120lb torque, bone stock except for V&H pipes. Runs best on the cheap gas (87oct). Worst mpg was 34 and best was 42. Just can't keep from twisting the throttle. I may be able to get around 45+ if I drive how the wife wants me to. The 34 was after the 500 mile mark on the odometer. They told me to drive it like I stole it..............so I did. Now I can't quit. :D

My 09 Dyna with stock every thing and less than a year of break in got close to 50 on long trips and that was running 2 up. I added the V&H short shots and the mpg is right at 42 on a good day and depending on the attitude I'm riding with as low as 36-37. I have wore out a rear tire at 8000 miles so my riding might be a little tough on the mileage.

My bike averages around 42 mpg but, I ride mine like I stole it. I think with a little restraint I could achieve better numbers.
