Hello, Friends--
This is the latest message traffic from both Forsaken Few Grumpy, OK COC Co-Chair, and Mike Kitrell, PGR OK State Captain, explaining the status regarding the wear of Patriot Guard Riders insignia in Oklahoma. I hope this adequately clears up any misunderstanding regarding this issue, in the interest of unity, effective interaction, and cooperation among all groups in our state. Have a good week and Ride Free and Safely, everyone!

Grumpy,
I (and my deputy Roy Wells and CMA Danny Talbott) attended a meeting with AVMC Black Dog and SGT Ted on 22 July at VFW Post 577 in Tulsa.
The first topic we discussed was the confrontation between SGT Ted and Doug (Big Dude) Carter, our Enid Ride Captain. After hearing the story, I relieved Doug of his duties as a PGR Ride Captain.
Following our discussion of this incident, SGT Ted informed us that Lee had given AVMC permission to shut down PGR operations in the state of Oklahoma. SGT Ted stated that they didn't want to shut us down and that they'd be willing to negotiate. After some time (about 4 hours), we negotiated the following policy:
Effective immediately, the PGR back patch is no longer authorized for wear in Oklahoma, at anytime. Members should not have any patch on the back of their garments that is yellow and blue and has the PGR logo. Additionally, PGR flags, banners, magnets, and stickers, are not authorized to be displayed, on any vehicle (1 or more wheels) except during funeral missions for Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen, or Marines, who are casualties of Operation Iraqi Freedom or Operation Enduring Freedom (Afghanistan). Patches on the front of the garment (vest, jacket, shirt, etc.) are authorized - no PGR items should be worn on the back of the vest, shirt, or jacket. Shirts or headgearwith the PGR logo in any color but BLACK or BLUE are authorized.
On 13 Aug, I met again with Black Dog (at his request) and after a little discussion, we agreed to revise the policy as follows:
Effective 13 Aug 09, the PGR back patch is not authorized for wear at anytime in the State of Oklahoma. All other PGR paraphernalia may be displayed during PGR missions and PGR-related activities. Permanent/semi-permanent items, such as stickers & decals make be displayed anytime on any item or vehicle (i.e, helmets, motorcycles, cages, etc.).
In short, we are now back to business as usual, minus the back patch.
Within the PGR world, the COC has taken a beating and I've found out that for some reason, the word has gotten out that the Bandidos were somehow involved. I've taken every measure I can to ensure that this matter had absolutely nothing to do with the Bandidos and that the COC was only indirectly involved (through AVMC). My only knowledge of COC involvement has been through the statement made by SGT Ted that he had Lee's authorization (as 1st Chair of the COC).
So, this is where we stand. I hope this answered your questions and provided some insight into the situation. Please don't hesitate to call or email me any questions, concerns, or advice you might have on the situation.
Respects,
Mike

Morning, I should already know what this all about, but somewhere I missed the boat. The Enid confrontation or what brought this mess up again. Several Oklahoma PGR members have asked me what happened and I do not know. Reasons I am asked is my position of Second Chair on COC and State President of Forsaken Few MC. Any information to get me updated would be greatly appreciated. E-mail or cell will be fine. 405-613-2414. Thank you for your time.
