A Oklahoma Judge granted temporary custody of a twelve year old boy to a man that was arrested and charged with assalt with a deadly weapon involving a minor and his wife who was arrested and charged with child abuse of her 3 month old daughter. Now this is what gets me these people claimed that the boys cousin was bullying him and beating him up and his mother and step father did nothing about it, but this child has never had an questionable bruises or anything on him till the judge granted this order, and then suddenly everytime his mother sees him he has several bruises and when asked where he gets them its always the same answer " I don't know, I'm just clumsy", or " I don't know but it didn't come from my dad's". So to me these are classic answer of an abused child, or a child that has been threatened into not saying anything but what they tell him to say. I feel that if our Justice system had a different opinion on placeing children in homes like these we wouldn't have as many deaths from child abuse and neglect. Sorry just had to rant about this it's just to appaling!!!

Which county was the judge seated in, Oklahoma or Cleveland??

He's seated in Logan county. Go figure!!!

How could I forget about Logan County? We've had some real eye openers from them too. I just love judges that try and social work the case from the bench. They always seem to get it all wrong, then the case workers go under the buss.

I agree, they don't even listen to the truth and then when presented with evidence of criminal record and abuse charges they ignore it. I feel very sorry for the children that this happens to and hope that one day the judges in this state decide to whats right and not try and council people instead.

It's just friggin' amazing how in Oklahoma we're so wrapped around the axle about the "Rights of the Unborn" but, once you're out of the womb, you're on your own in a state that ranks Number One in Child Abuse-related deaths and injuries!!

You know Tiger Mike to bad there aren't more people like you to stand for whats right. I've been fighting this fight since April and can't get any help to keep my child out of a potentially abusive and dangerous situation and enviroment.

I won't go into all the details of my story but will say that Wagoner County also has a lazy, unconcerned attitude towards child abuse. Even when I assured the D.A's office that my family would pay for expenses of getting my daughter into town, they would not investigate simply because she had told them that she didn't want to face her abuser. I know she would have if she had not had to worry about the cost of coming back to OK. I agree, you'd think that the law would go after child abusers and molesters hot and heavy but they don't.
